THAMMA

MOVIE REVIEW :-Hello all and welcome to the review. Today, I am going to review the movie (Thamma). starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika and Nawazuddin in the lead roles. After watching this movie, it is a new installment movie in the Madok horror universe, so I felt that it is not worth giving my opinion. It is definitely not the quality of the previous movies. Now let's go into the Indeath review. In this, our hero's name is Alok. One day, he goes on a vacation in the jungle with his friends. There, a bear attaches itself. What kind of chains come into his life from there? How did Taraka come into his life? What is the link between this story and Betail? The movie Madok's horror universe has an expectation. Women's movies are good, there is an emotion in Bhedi. But recently, for some reason, it seems that they are not focusing properly. Moonjiya is not as great as the movie. This Thamma movie that has come out now is also okay, but it doesn't seem like they put in proper effort. For this movie to work, the main thing is that the love story should work. But I got a disconnect there. There is no chemistry between the actors, but if the writing is not right, then who will do it? Taraka saves Alok. But why does he love? There are no convincing scenes. Taraka also falls in love with Alok. But why is it a real love story, we should connect to those characters. That doesn't happen here. But it's not all bad either. The comedy works a little. Especially the scenes between Alok and his father and the scenes between Taraka and Alok's family are good.

2) But it takes a long time to get an emotional connection with the main story. Ayushmann Khurrana's performance is good. I felt he was suited for this role. Rashmika's performance is mixed but I felt it came from the director's locked-off input. Because in one scene, she behaves like someone who has just come from the forest. That is correct because that is what happens in the story. But again, in the next scene, she adds it very normally and casually. Such acting inconsistencies mostly come if the director does not track it properly. Also, it seemed like they cashed in on a love story without any chemistry between the two of them. It seemed like they did something without a basic chemistry test. Again, this is a director and casting issue. Nawaz will play the villain role. The most miscast and misused actor, he doesn't seem threatening at all in the movie. He doesn't even scare in a single scene. In fact, they still do comedy with the villain. I know, all these movies go in a comedy tone. But in previous movies, there was a balance of horror and comedy. That was missed in this one. In this one, the villain is locked. There is a condition to escape. But they have established a logic behind it. In the climax too, they miss the logic as much as they like at this point. Likewise, the trailer already shows that Alok will get powers. In fact, the best fun moments in an origin story come when the powers are explored in a new way. I don't talk about the roof top jump in Spider-Man or the budget and scale of Steve's first flight. There is an emotion. They try to put it here after that first moment, but before that, they show him using the powers. So we don't know what that excitement is. This is a mistake made by editing. The editing is very different in this movie. They give already given information again and again. The characters already know it.

3) But in the next scene, they act as if they didn't know it. Similarly, neither the conditions nor the stories of Betal are properly established. They don't give full clarity on who got what powers and why. Rashmika has a special power. This is not available to other heroines. No explanation is given anywhere as to why it is only for her. The overall negative aspect is that if you say no, the comedy would have worked well. Also, the second half would have been a bit better. If the first half is boring, then the connections in the universe are explored in the second half. So, all this feels new to us and is fun. In fact, these sequences save the movie from being bad. Here, the universe connection building is done well. Technically, this movie is good. The visuals are good, the VFX quality is good for that budget. In some places, that moment that seemed cartoonish would have suited the tone. Music is fine, there is an emotional song and it's good, they put two special songs in the type, they don't seem like much. Even though there is no specific team for BGM works, the BGM works till that scene. BGM direction by Aditya Sarpoddar, I have mixed feelings. He directed it before too. Whatever issues I had with that movie, I felt the same issues with this one too. He should seriously reconsider this direction style and update it. So finally, Dhama came out as a below average venture. It actually felt like a filler movie in the Marak horror universe. But it was well connected to future universe movies. And those scenes are fun. So if you want to watch the old version of the universe, you can watch it. So that's it for the review. If you like it, please like, share and subscribe to my channel.
